I am
mortified that any company would send something like this out to its customers or the general public!!! I agree with Samantha in that I am having extreme difficulty simply copyediting, rather than tearing this piece apart and rewriting (something I had alluded to earlier when it came to editing papers). I'm truly frustrated because there are so many basic grammatical mistakes that it seems almost impossible to even distinguish a starting point!
It is a terribly written letter. Please take a look at fig. 1 (p. 26) in Einsohn's book. You may decide that the best thing to do--or the most reasonable anyway--is to cut a good portion of the text and to simplify whatever is left.
