Seconded. This is a great commencement speech, but I must admit that I am a bit biased; I consider Steve Jobs one of the best public speakers out there.

But I have a bit of bitterness about this commencement speech, too. haha...

My cousin Michael was graduating with his MBA from Stanford that spring of 2005. My dad asked me two days before the graduation if I would like to go up with him and my sister to California to attend the commencement ceremony. I didn't feel like spending money on a plane ticket, so I told him I was going to stay home.

It was only later that I found out that the commencement speaker was Steve Jobs! :P

I'm still regretting that I didn't go up with them. :P I guess I'll have to wait for a Macworld Conference or some other special event to fly up to California and see Steve Jobs give a keynote address.

Oh, and speaking of commencement addresses, here is one of my all-time favorites. You see, being a member of the UH band, I've attended nearly every undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies to play graduation music, so I've heard many commencement speeches over the past 6 years. ;) This is the only one that got a standing ovation from the entire crowd:

Thanks for sharing, Jen. I would have felt the same way about missing Jobs's speech, so I sympathize.

And thanks for the link to Lee Cataluna's address--glad to have that.
