Is it "alot" should be "a lot"?
Yes, "alot" should be two words. Also, there is an unnecessary period after "IT."
Notice the comma after "STRAIGHT": when you are addressing someone, a comma comes before the person's name or an appositive. Here are some examples:
1. Good work on the quiz, Georgette.
2. Look over here, you.
3. The check please, waiter.
Hey, speaking of commas used with direct addresses, here's a good example that will hopefully remind everyone to use them properly:
"Let's eat Grandma!"
vs.
"Let's eat, Grandma!"
See the difference? If someone were to write to me using the first one, I'd respond, "Sorry! I'm not a cannibal!" :)
