color pencils
I know we were supposed to make our final markings in red or blue pencil for test 2, but after trying numerous times, I ended up using my regular lead pencil. I am wondering if anyone else had this problem? For me personally, the color pencils did not provide the precision that I needed on such limited space for copyediting. Do I need to buy better color pencils? Is there a particular type or brand of color pencils recommended for copyediting?

I struggled with using a color pencil as well. I did all my preliminary markings with a regular lead pencil before using a red pencil for the final copy.
I know this isn't very earth-friendly, but I sharpened the red pencil about every half page, so that I can write with precision. Sorry, Earth...
What I needed was an erasable red pencil; too many "stets" don't look good...
I did the same.
I made two copies of the midterm. On one copy, I used a lead pencil. On the second copy, I used the red pencil.
I hate the red pencil.
Even after my first copy with the lead pencil, I changed my mind about a lot of things while going throught the test with red. Why don't they erase?!
Are the blue pencils better?
Sorry, folks, my bad. (Do people still say that?) I should have foreseen this problem and told you that all color pencils are not created equal.
I'll bring in on Friday the kinds of pencils that you should use.
Yes, I used an artist quality color pencil and I took it down to the nub. I didn't have strength. I'm interested to know what type of pencils we should have been using.
